Luc Perron

Luc Perron has been in the mobility equipment industry for close to 18 years, but he is one of the newer faces at Conval-Aid. His focus is on pediatrics, which means helping children get the right equipment for their needs and supporting parents through every step.

His Approach to Pediatrics

Luc believes the best results happen when everyone works together. He involves the child, their family, and their occupational therapist to decide on goals and how to reach them.

“The first piece of equipment might not be perfect,” Luc says. “You learn what works and what you wish was different. That is when the therapist and I step in to guide you toward the right fit.”

Helping Families Navigate the Process

Parents often begin their search online. Luc understands this is a good way to learn about the different options, but not everything found on the internet can be sold in Ontario or is approved for funding through the Assistive Devices Program (ADP). Having a therapist involved from the start can save time and ensure the right equipment is chosen.

Luc meets families in the setting that works best for their needs. Sometimes that is at their home, sometimes at Conval-Aid, and other times at CHEO where there is a wider range of equipment to see in person.

Answering Common Questions

Questions about cost and funding come up often. Luc reminds families that there is a lot of help available and they do not have to go through the process alone. Therapists and case workers can guide them through available programs and applications.

Choosing the Right Equipment

Luc starts by looking at function, durability, and how well a product fits the child’s needs. If a Canadian-made option meets those standards, he will suggest it because it often means faster service and easier repairs.

Children grow quickly, so Luc focuses on products with built-in adjustability to make them last longer and help families get the most from their funding.

Why He Likes Working at Conval-Aid

Luc enjoys the teamwork and supportive environment. “Everyone is willing to help clients and work together. It makes a real difference,” he says.

Life Outside of Work

With three kids of his own, Luc spends much of his time at the arena or driving to activities. When he is not on family duty, he is usually working on a home project.
